God's Garden, Wichita, Kansas
God's Garden is located at the Union Rescue Mission in Wichita. The group applied for grant funds to purchase tools, irrigation supplies, rain barrels, tillers and a lawn mower. The garden will operate as a communal garden. The vegetables produced will help feed the poor families and homeless men in the community. The local Extension horticulture agent and Extension Master Gardeners will be assisting the paricipants learn the basics of gardening by hosting educational classes at the site.
