Overland Park Community Garden
Overland Park, KS

The mission of the Overland Park Community Garden is to provide enjoyable, accessible space for residents to grow healthy food using organic, sustainable and environmentally friendly methods. The garden is located adjacent to the Oak Park Branch (9500 Bluejacket) of the Johnson County Library, their program partner. Gardeners may lease plots for $25 (a 4’ x 10’ plot) or $40 (a 4’ x 20’ plot). Plot fees help defray the garden’s operating costs. The garden hosts educational gardening programs presented by Johnson County Extension Master Gardeners. The garden also sponsors the Southdale Sprouts project that targets middle-school age youth from the area.

The Overland Park Community Garden requested Kansas Community Garden Grant funds to purchase a shed, a compost bin system, garden benches and watering equipment.
