Wilson Community Garden, Wilson, Kansas The Wilson Community Garden is a combination of an allotment garden and a communal garden. The garden's location, in PRIDE Park, is directly across the street from the Methodist Education Building where the summer lunch program is housed. Two large plots will be provided to Wilson PRIDE and the summer lunch program to utilize for educational programs for youth involved in summer activities. The garden donated produce for the lunch program and they led educational lessons about science and nutrition twice a week. Individuals renting the remaining plots must agree to provide 5% of their harvest to assist either the summer lunch program the summer backpack program, the Wilson Food Bank, the Wilson Senior Center, or the Bob Box food program for senior citizens. Grant funds were used to install hydrants and irrigation lines, fencing, raised beds, signage, bed preparation and to purchase tools and supplies.
